Blackwell  Music Center 
The Blackwell  Family pioneered the preservation of our musical heritage and were the first to offer nationally attended professionally taught fiddle camps,  beginning in the early 1980s, in Missouri. The Blackwell Practical Music Lesson Studio was also the first in Missouri to organize a structured teaching program and  sponsor band workshops for the Blackwell Practical Music Method  students. These were taught by nationally recognized old-time and Bluegrass bands. Later others also saw the need and now, as well as the Blackwell Practical Music Lesson Studio in Seymour, MO, there is also a state program to preserve this heritage.
